Chinese Lunar New Year Banquet 2020

The San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum presents our Chinese New Year Banquet, to take place on Saturday, January 25th, 2020. Please join us at Pearl Chinese Cuisine to celebrate the coming year of the Rat with festivities that you will not want to miss.

Celebration tickets start at $125 per person, with Celebration tables (which seat up to 10 guests) going at $1,250. VIP tickets will cost $225, and VIP tables (which, likewise, seat 10) will go for $2,250. A percentage of your purchase WILL BE tax-deductible, and go toward supporting the SDCHM's mission (this information will be included in a receipt to be sent upon purchase of your tickets or table).

If you will be unable to attend, and would like to make a 100% tax-deductible donation to the Museum in lieu of purchasing seats at the banquet, you may do so via the Museum's PayPal site.

Culinary Diplomacy Between the U.S. and China: How Food Bridges Divides and Forges Peace

San Diego - The San Diego Diplomacy Council and the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum are inviting San Diegans to their table for a taste of varied Chinese regional cuisine and a dialogue on U.S.-China culinary diplomacy efforts.

On Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at 5:30 pm, the two organizations will present “Culinary Diplomacy Between the U.S. and China: How Food Bridges Divides and Forges Peace.” The event will feature food from local restaurants representative of different cuisines within China and a discussion facilitated by keynote speaker Dr. Lilly Cheng, PhD, on Chinese cultural diversity, cuisine and how people in China and the U.S continue to foster deep links through food and culture, despite rising tensions between the two countries.
