Special Lecture: The Work of Giants–The Chinese and the Transcontinental Railroad: A Descendant’s Story

To coincide with the Chinese and the Iron Road Exhibition, Dr. Russell Low, the descendent of a Chinese railroad worker and San Diego native, will give a special presentation: The Work of Giants—The Chinese and the Transcontinental Railroad: A Descendant’s Story on Saturday, March 5th from 2PM-4PM at the Chuang Archive and Learning Center. Dr. Russell Low will present an interactive lecture of the stories his family discovered by his great grandfather, Hung Lai Woh who worked on the first transcontinental railroad in the United States over a century ago. Including a display of photographs and heirlooms that have been passed down from his family, Dr. Low’s lecture will give a personal look at this often overlooked piece of American history.
