Film Screening: “Finding Samuel Lowe”

January 27 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$5.00

What’s better than an uplifting film on a chilly afternoon? On Saturday, January 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., we will be screening Finding Samuel Lowe, based off the book Finding Samuel Lowe: China, Jamaica, Harlem by Paula Williams Madison, a New York Post must-read book. The story follows Madison and her two siblings, who are from Harlem, as they unfold the story of their heritage, leading them through the story of their Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. This film was an official selection at the San Diego Black Film Festival in 2015, and we are exciting to host the screening at SDCHM as it makes its return to San Diego. Author and filmmaker Paula Williams Madison will be joining us at the museum for a book signing.

Please RSVP to info@sdchm.org or (619) 338-9888.
