Searching for Gold Mountain: The Immigration Experience
This lecture presents the journey of early Chinese immigrants who fled warfare and famine in the declining Qing Dynasty to labor under discrimination and exclusion in the U.S. Subsequent generations of Chinese Americans served in WWII, and later waves of immigration followed. How Chinese Americans rallied and fought for equality in America will be explored.
